The Washington State Lacrosse Association announced Friday that a player suspended from the league is expected to play next season.

The Washington State men’s lacrosse team, which won the 2017 NCAA lacrosse national title, was fined $500,000 by the governing body, after players were found to have engaged in sexual misconduct with a male lacrosse player.WSU senior linebacker Justin Ruppert was suspended in July for two years after being arrested and charged with three felony counts of rape and sexual battery.

Worcester County District Attorney Richard Smerdon has announced charges against a fourth player, sophomore forward Ryan Smith, for sexual assault and sexual interference with a minor.

The four charges stem from an alleged incident in December.
